Board Overview

In 1984, the City Council established a Business Improvement District Board. On an annual basis, the BID considers a special assessment to assist with the cost of maintaining the BID.  Upon receiving a recommendation from the BID, the City Council holds a public hearing to consider the levy of a special assessment.  The BID Board makes the determination as to how the money that is generated from the special assessment is spent. 

The Business Improvement District (BID) Board consists of six (6) or more persons from within the boundaries of the BID boundaries such as:
  • Business operators
  • Property owners
  • Residents
  • Users of space
  • The terms are three (3) years.
